The Origins of Impact Investing
The modern impact investing movement took shape in 2007, when The Rockefeller Foundation convened investors and philanthropists at its Bellagio Center in Italy. These discussions gave rise to the term Impact Investing, followed by the establishment of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) in 2009.
